Welcome to Cozy Writing Co.
We make things for curious people who follow rabbit holes, collect interests, notice patterns, tell stories, keep receipts, and occasionally require office supplies for reasons that are difficult to explain.
Maybe you're writing a book. Maybe you're trying to remember every movie you've watched this year. Maybe you've developed a sudden and completely reasonable need to know everything about medieval marginalia.
We don't know where this is going yet.
That's kind of the fun part.
Having a Thing Is Kind of Our Thing.
You know that thing you keep thinking about?
The story you might write. The hobby you just picked up. The oddly specific subject you've suddenly become fascinated by. The project you started six months ago and still swear you're going back to. The spreadsheet that exists because apparently knowing this information is important now.
We're into it.
We think curiosity is a perfectly good reason to begin something.
We think hobbies count even when you're bad at them.
We think making something just because you want it to exist is an excellent use of your time.
We think owning 17 notebooks is perfectly reasonable.
Honestly, we're not here to ask a lot of follow-up questions.
Cozy Writing Co. exists to make all of that even more fun—with writing tools, prompts, trackers, ridiculously specific resources, and whatever else we get curious enough to make next.
Just so we're clear, every purchase will be interpreted as encouragement.
Meet the Person With All the Things.
Hi, I’m Carly.
I’ve built an entire company around the idea that having a lot of interests is perfectly reasonable.
This was probably inevitable.
I have a Ph.D. in how people learn and communicate. I've been a university professor, researcher, corporate executive, author, business owner, and professional asker of “Okay, but what if we tried this?”
I am also the reason “let me look that up real quick” cannot be trusted in my house.
I've written a book about what teachers can learn from video games. I've taught people how to write. I've built businesses. I've spent unreasonable amounts of time studying how people think, learn, tell stories, make decisions, and figure stuff out.
I also own hundreds of board games, have been known to turn a perfectly innocent hobby into a small research operation, and will absolutely research something for six hours because one tiny detail bothered me.
So, yeah. For a long time, I thought all those interests were supposed to eventually resolve themselves into one neat professional identity.
They did not.
Instead, they became Cozy Writing Co.: a place where I get to make useful, interesting, occasionally ridiculous things for other curious people—and where nobody is going to ask you what any of this has to do with your five-year plan.
I have no intention of becoming more reasonable about any of this.
For the Record…
Productivity should feel a little more like play.
Games are legitimate teachers. And fairly awesome metaphors.
Buying supplies counts as part of the hobby.
Your latest interest does not need to be a side hustle.
You can have/be/do more than one thing. Obviously.
If “I’ll just look it up real quick” has ever become an entire evening...

Okay, so what do we actually make around here?
A surprisingly wide assortment of things, as you might imagine.
There are writing toolkits and prompts for fiction, nonfiction, memoir, and all those ideas you keep meaning to do something with.
Vibebooks for burnout recovery, creative resets, decision-making, and the occasional existential okay, now what? moments.
And hobby trackers for the books, games, movies, TV shows, tarot cards, and other interests that have clearly reached the paperwork stage.
Basically, if you want to make something, figure something out, or keep the receipts, there’s probably something here for you.
